Why nonwoven fabrics cannot be reused?
According to research, the shelf life of sterile articles is closely related to the thickness of non-woven fabrics and the number of coating layers. After a series of high-temperature steam sterilization and chemical washing, the fiber structure of disposable nonwoven packaging materials will be deformed, the cloth holes will be sparse, the thickness will drop, and even there will be small holes that are not easily noticed by the naked eye. The bacteria resistance rate will suddenly decline or lose its bacteria resistance performance. The requirements for packaging materials in the Technical Specification for Disinfection are to provide bacterial barrier and maintain sterility during storage. If it is reused, the sterilized storage cannot reach the safe expiration date.
After high-temperature sterilization, the fine plastic fiber of the nonwoven fabric will shrink to a certain extent. In terms of use, the sterilized nonwoven fabric is more brittle and less flexible than that before sterilization.
