What is non-woven fabric made of
Non-woven fabric is a kind of non-woven fabric. Its material composition is very diverse and can be selected according to different needs and application scenarios. The following are some common non-woven fabric materials:
1. Chemical fiber
The most common material in non-woven fabric is chemical fiber, including polypropylene (PP), polyester (PET), nylon (PA), acrylic, etc. These chemical fibers are usually obtained through polymerization reaction, and then further made into fiber raw materials for the production of non-woven fabrics.
2. Natural fiber
In addition to chemical fiber, non-woven fabrics can also use natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, wool, silk, etc. These natural fibers exist in nature and can be made into fiber raw materials that can be used for production through certain treatment methods.
3. Polymer slices
The production of non-woven fabrics can also directly use polymer slices, which can be directly formed into non-woven fabric products through various fiber web forming methods and consolidation technologies.
4. Short fibers or filaments
Short fibers or filaments are also used in the production process of non-woven fabrics. These fibers or filaments usually need to undergo certain pretreatments, such as combing and stacking, to form a fiber web with a certain thickness.
Production process of non-woven fabrics
There are many kinds of production processes for non-woven fabrics, and the processes are also different, but the core processes include two steps: fiber web formation and fiber web reinforcement. Fiber web formation is to make fibers into a mesh. Common methods include dry web formation, wet web formation, spinning web formation, melt-blown web formation, etc. Fiber web reinforcement is to reinforce the fibers in the web to improve their strength and stability. Common reinforcement methods include chemical bonding, thermal bonding, mechanical reinforcement, etc.
Application of non-woven fabrics
Due to their unique materials and production processes, non-woven fabrics have many excellent properties, such as moisture-proof, breathable, flexible, lightweight, non-combustible, easy to decompose, non-toxic and non-irritating, rich in colors, low price, recyclable, etc. These properties make non-woven fabrics widely used in many fields, such as medical and sanitary non-woven fabrics, home decoration non-woven fabrics, clothing non-woven fabrics, industrial non-woven fabrics, agricultural non-woven fabrics, and other non-woven fabrics.
